Daily Bread : About the Campaign

February 20, 2012

What is Daily Bread?

The Daily Bread campaign is the annual appeal for fundraising at Bosco System Catholic Schools. The goal of the campaign is to supplement the general operating budget at the school in order to keep tuition affordable while still providing a top notch educational experience.

Why are additional funds needed?

The Daily Bread campaign is a necessary part of the budget for many reasons. Tuition payments only cover approximately 35% of the operating cost of the system. This means that the vast majority of our expenses are covered by subsidies from parishes and "third source" income. Third source income includes earnings on investments, grants, fundraisers, and donations. The aim of the Daily Bread fund is to increase this third source category.

What about our endowment?

The Bosco System endowment fund contributes a significant amount each year towards the general operating budget. However, the point of an endowment is that you should never have to use the principal for general operating expenses. The Daily Bread campaign recognizes that we have needs that need to be addressed now and that we need to continue building our endowment funds. For this reason 25% of all funds raised will go towards building the endowment.

How do I make a gift?

Gifts and pledges can be made through the Bosco System Development office. Pledge payment plans are flexible and can be customized to your ability to fulfill your gift. The development office can be reached at (319)-296-1606 or development@boscosystem.pvt.k12.ia.us. Checks can be made payable to Daily Bread and sent to...
