Many Ways to Support Our School System

There are several ways you can help support our students and our school system.

We are all asked to share our time, talents and treasures. You can volunteer to help coordinate and organize events and projects. You can also volunteer to work at these events and projects. We always need help with Magazine Sales, Fruit Sale, and Peach Sale.

The Bosco System Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Booster Club operate to support our school system by providing services, funds or other items needed. To find out more information about the PTO or Booster Club organizations please contact their respective officers.

The PTO is scheduling volunteers for various projects for the school system (K-12) - PTO representatives, Room Mothers/Representatives, Book Fair and Open House, Teachers Dinners, Spring Picnic, Legion Breakfast - go to the PTO page on the website for information and schedules.

Thank you for volunteering your time to help make these events successful!

There are other opportunities to support our school system:

SCRIP Program

The SCRIP program generates a substantial amount of revenue for the school each year. We sell a wide variety of gift cards from many retailers. Every purchase helps the school and also earns tuition credit for those who have students in the school system. For more information, go to the SCRIP Program page on this website.

Target Visa Card

By using your Target VISA card with every purchase (at Target or elsewhere just like any other VISA credit card) you can designate the Bosco System (or Don Bosco or Immaculate Conception) as the recipient of the money Target donates. Visit www.target.com for more information and to designate our school to receive the proceeds from your purchases.

Goodsearch.com

Using the search engine www.goodsearch.com will help generate funds for the Bosco System. Goodsearch donates 50% of its revenue to charities an schools designated by its users. You use Goodsearch.com exactly as you would any other search engine. It's powered by Yahoo! for proven results. The money donated comes from its advertisers. Simply enter "Bosco System" where it asks "Who do you good search for?" then click verify and continue your search.

Recycling Fundraiser - Go Green

Recycle various electronics - it's good for the environment and good for our school.

Go Green - Recycling Fundraiser Information

Newspaper Recycling

We work with Mason City Recycling Center to recycle newspapers, they make insulation out of these products. They pay us $65 per ton. There is a semi-trailer parked in the plaza. When it's full, we call them and they bring another trailer for us. This is an on-going project. You may drop off your newspapers at the trailer anytime it is open or at either school building during school hours. We have filled several trailers already! If you own a business and are paying someone to collect your newspaper and/or papers, please call us and we can make arrangements to pickup your paper for this project. If you have old books, phone books, etc. please consider recycling these materials to help out the Bosco System.

Can Redemption

You can still donate your cans and bottles to the school by dropping them off at the can recycling container in the parking lot next to Farmer's State Bank in Gilbertville.

HyVee Cash for Students

Save your cash register receipts and turn them into the school office. HyVee donates $1.00 for every $200 in receipt tapes. These receipts are due each year by April 30th.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
